Farmer has lucky escape as Slurry tanker overturns
A Wexford farmer has had a lucky escape after his tractor and slurry tanker overturned on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Thursday morning on the main road from New Toss to Fethard on Sea.
Gardai were called to the scene.
With Farm Safety Week occurring next week we at That’s Farming urge our tractor drivers to proceed with caution at what can be a very busy time of the year.
Speaking ahead of National Farm Safety week Minister Creed said:
Farmers and contractors are taking full advantage of the current excellent spell of weather and are literally making hay while the sun shines. This of course means longer working days anmd added pressure to get seasonal harvesting work done.’
‘The weather also means a lot of children are out and about on farms and it is critical that safety is foremost in everyone’s mind and that we take steps to avoid injuries or worse the loss of life. I have too many times seen the devastating impact that farm accidents can have on a family.’
