A farmer has decided to put up his magnificent farm up as a prize in a raffle and it could be yours for just €56!
The farmer, John Bennett, decided to put his land in Brotton, Teeside in the UK up as a prize. He has begun selling tickets for just £50. The interest has been big, with John reporting that he was receiving over 160 entries per hour at one stage. Over 2,000 people have already entered the raffle and not just people in the UK.
The raffle has well and truly gone viral, with videos popping up on social media about the farm. Channel 4 has also got in contact with the view of doing a Homes in the Sun programme on the property.
The farm is 19-acres in total and boasts stunning views of the English countryside and stunning seas. The farm was up for sale for the past six months, but despite interest, no firm offers were made. This is why John made the decision to put the farm up for a raffle and it seems to be paying off.
The farm also features eight stables, a tack room, a feed room, a six-car garage, a barn and a workshop, not to mention the fabulous three-bedroom farmhouse. John and his wife have lived on the farm for 25 years, but hope to jet off for retirement in Majorca.
The winner is to be decided by a random number generator, but there is one catch. The winner must answer one question to claim the prize - In which town of the North-East coast has the last remaining pier in Yorkshire?
Good news, if you buy 20 tickets you get one free! The raffle is not just for the family to enjoy the fruits of, they will also give £5,000 each to Children with Cancer and Sara charities. The family will also pay any and all stamp duty and solicitor fees.
The deadline is set for March 2018, though once the limit of 28,000 tickets is reached, the farm will be raffled. There will also be a second and third prize, with a 65in and 55in Samsung TV up for grabs.
