IFA National Sheep Chairman, Sean Dennehy, has said "it is positive that all lamb factories are back up and running at full capacity this week"
He outlined that trade is stable with factories paying €4.60/4.65/kg and top prices of €4.75/€4.85/kg, including bonuses.
He said it is very important that factories keep a “firm floor in prices over the next few weeks”.
Sean Dennehy said it was also time that factories increase carcase weights, at least up to 22kgs.
In addition, he believes very important that factories do not penalise farmers on weights or specs because they were “unable to sell lambs over the last three weeks”.
