The wearing of face-masks in livestock marts will be mandatory from next Monday, August 24th, the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM) has confirmed.
In a statement to That’s Farming this afternoon (Wednesday, August 19th), a spokesperson for the DAFM said: “In consultation with the marts organisations, arrangements are being finalised in relation to the wearing of masks in marts.”
“The wearing of masks in marts will be mandatory from next Monday, the 24 August, In the meantime, the voluntary wearing of masks when attending marts is recommended.”
“Full details will be communicated to all marts shortly.” the statement concluded.
