Sheep 2018 - Farm-to-Fork
Sheep 2018 - Farm to Fork, the major national sheep event for 2018 will take place on Saturday, July, 7th in Teagasc, Mellows Campus, Athenry, Co. Galway.
Attractions on the day will include sheep breed competitions; sheep breed displays; demonstration of sheepdog training; and an extensive range of commercial exhibitors.
Technical information on all aspects of sheep production will be provided by Teagasc researchers; advisors; and specialists - this will cover areas including grassland management; breeding; nutrition and flock health. The villages throughout the site will include practical workshops demonstrating the best techniques for managing flocks.
It is promised to be a great day out for the entire family and a must for anyone involved in the sheep industry; meeting local artisan food producers or for those interested in setting up their own food company. Gates will open at 10.00am, with the day concluding at 5.00pm.
On Saturday, July, 7th, 2018, North-East Connemara’s Breeder show and Adamstown show in Co. Wexford will take centre stage.
Ballina Agricultural Show; Roundstone Connemara Pony Show; Mullingar Agricultural Show and Wexford Equestrian show all take place on Sunday, July, 8th, 2018.
Stylish Silage Competition
The final of the Stylish Silage competition as part of the An Tóstal festival takes place this Saturday, July, 7th in the Lough Allen Hotel, Drumshanbo with music on the night with ‘Busy Fingers’. Find out more information here.
Charity Barn Dance with Mike Denver
The annual Barn Dance in aid of Cancer Research and other charities will take place at Cushinstown Athletic Club, Kilmoon, Ashbourne, Co. Meath on Saturday, July, 7th.
Trevor Smith & Friends In Low Places -The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience will take to the stage, follow followed by Mike Denver and a session with DJ Mark Fallon. The previous five Barndances hosted by the organisers have raised over €387,000 in total for charity. Admission can be gained for €25, with more information available here.
