Five sites in the agri-food sector have featured on the EPA's Enforcement List after failing to meet the necessary environmental standards.
A total of nine sites have been listed - an increase of four sites from the previous list; the EPA published its latest National Priority Sites List for Enforcement yesterday.
The main compliance issues are causing odour and noise nuisance and failing to properly manage wastewater discharges, according to the EPA.
The National Priority Sites for April-September-2018 include:
- Arrow Group, Co. Kildare.;
- Lacpatrick Dairies LTD, Co. Monaghan;
- Rosderra Irish Meats Group (Edenderry), Co Offaly;
- Glanbia Foods Ireland LTD, Co. Laois;
- Western Brand Group LTD, Co. Mayo.
Further Enforcement Action
These companies face further enforcement action from the EPA in order to secure compliance.
The nine sites accounted for 43% of all complaints received in this period, the EPA outlined.
The following are the National Priority Sites for April-September 2018. The EPA will update the National Priority Sites list on a quarterly basis.
