Tuesday, January 21st saw over 500 lots go under the hammer at Ennis Mart, according to a spokesperson.
They outlined that weanling bulls met with a “cracking” trade due to the presence of farmers, exporters and specialised feeders; farmers and feeders were active for the heifer ring.
“The nice quality bull weanlings in the 300kg to 350kg bracket were very dear.” the spokesperson added.
Calves climbed to €540, while heifer runners topped out at €650 over and bull runners topped out at €770; pairs in the suckler ring sold for up to €2,000 and in-calf lots made to €1,480.

“Again, the hoggets a great trade and very similar to last week with 57kgs making to €132. Likewise, cull ewes a very strong trade with a few great ewes making €142/hd.” the spokesperson concluded.
