Michael Ferris is a dairy farmer from Co. Kerry who was recently sentenced to five years in jail for the manslaughter of another farmer in the county, using a teleporter, as reported by us here.
73-year-old tillage farmer, Anthony O’Mahony died in April 2017 after Mr. Ferris rammed the prongs of his teleporter machine through the farmer's car, causing fatal injuries. The argument was the result of an ongoing feud over the tillage farmers persistent use of crow bangers on his land.
Mr. Ferris was eventually handed down a sentence of five years, backdated to his original arrest, with the final twelve months suspended.
However, There have been some fresh developments in the case today, as the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) have lodged an appeal against the leniency of the sentence imposed on the farmer.
