The hammer hit at $22,200 (approximately €18,780 ) for a Kelpie at Australia Premier Working Dog Auction 2018 hosted by Casterton Kelpie Association.
After a flurry of bids, 2-year-old Glencain Seven (Puds Cruiser - Sunraysia Claire) hit the golden price-tag and set a new world record.
Offered for sale by Christian Peacock - Waterloo, Seven was described as a “strong dog” that “backs and barks on command.”
It was outlined that lot-48 works the paddock and yard, small and large mobs, with the ability to work independently and as a team. This black and tan male Kelpie will suit station work as he has a “big heart” and “goes all day”, according to the sales catalogue.
