There has been a fresh update in the story of the beaten farmer locked in a shed during a burglary.
Gardaí are on the hunt for four men in connection with the assault of a 54-year-old farmer and the burglary of his property over the weekend. The incident occurred at Glasderry Beg at approximately 2 am on Saturday morning, with the farmer being attacked with an iron bar.
The four intruders then proceeded to lock the injured farmer in a shed, while searching his home for valuables. He eventually escaped before calling Gardaí and being transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

There has been a fresh update to the story, with reports that the four intruders also attacked the farmer's dog. The dog was viciously beaten by the intruders, during their violent escapade. It is reported that they grabbed the dog by its neck and proceeded to beat it. The dog, is described by locals as the farmer’s best friend and soulmate.
The four men involved are said to have had Munster accents and wore hats and gloves during the burglary. They are believed to have made off with a small amount of cash in a 4x4 jeep. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who noticed suspicious activity on the night in question to contact them.
