South Leitrim Macra have organised an event, in aid of North West Hospice & Irish Cancer Research, asking farmers to rid themselves of their hair in a bid to raise money.

‘Hair Today Gone Tomorrow’ is an upcoming event organised by South Leitrim Macra with all proceeds going to North West Hospice & Irish Cancer Research.

“Are you brave enough to shave your head or beard, wax those legs or dye your hair?” - ask the organisers, as they will look to get as many farmers and attendees to shave, dye or wax their hair in aid of charity! Are you brave enough to lose the lovely locks?

Charities:
The charities, North West Hospice & Irish Cancer Research, were chosen as the group wanted to give back to those who work tirelessly when treating people with cancer and in trying to find a cure.

Every hour someone in the country dies from Cancer and every three minutes someone new is diagnosed with the disease, making the event all the more relevant. The group says they, like many, have also had people within their circles affected by Cancer, making them two charities close to their hearts.

“We wanted to do something to support those who work tirelessly to support new initiates for cures and those who support end of life care”, the group said.

The event takes place Saturday May 5th in Jackies Lakeland bar in Ballinamore town, with all welcome to attend. Donations will be taken on the night, but if you are feeling generous and can’t attend, you can also donate by contacting Brendan on 0863023098.

If you would like further information or updates on the event, you can get them here.
