Dairygold announces September milk price

Dairygold has set its September 2021 milk price.

The processor has increased its price by 0.75cpl to 37.00cpl. This is based on standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, inclusive of bonuses and VAT.

This milk price equates to an average September farm gate milk price of 44.7cpl, which is based on the average September milk solids Dairygold milk suppliers achieved.

It has based its quoted milk price for September on EU Standard constituents of 3.4%protein, and 4.2% butterfat is 40.4cpl.

In a statement to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for the milk processor said:

“Global milk supply has eased over the past few months, and the supply outlook to year-end will be more modest.”

“Combined with Covid-19 recovery continuing, dairy demand has picked up in recent weeks, with markets firmer.”

“As is customary, the Dairygold board will continue to monitor markets closely and review milk price on month by month basis.”

September 2021 milk prices: Glanbia

Its announcement follows Glanbia, Kerry Group and Lakeland Dairies.

The milk processor will pay its members 36.6c/L (including VAT) for September creamery milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

For September, it will pay a base milk price of 36.18c/L (including VAT) for creamery milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

This is an increase of 1c/L (including VAT) from the August base price.

Farmer members will also receive a 0.42c/L (including VAT) payment from Glanbia Co-op on all milk supplied this month as their share of GI profit.

Lakeland Dairies

Meanwhile, the board of Lakeland Dairies has increased the co-operative’s milk price for September.

In the ROI, it has increased its base milk price by 1c/Lto 37.5c/L, including VAT, for milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, the processor has increased its milk price by 0.6p/litre to 30.10p/litre.

Kerry Group

Kerry Group’s base price for September milk supplies will increase by 1c/l to 36c/l incl VAT at 3.30% protein/3.60% butterfat and 39.53c/l incl VAT at EU Standard Constituents 3.40% protein/4.20% butterfat.”

Based on Kerry’s average milk solids for September, the milk price return inclusive of VAT and bonuses is 42.37c/L.
