Glenmore Estate, Ireland’s largest organic farm, has announced its intentions to sell its dairy herd next month.
The 2,400-acre farm, which was purchased by the McElhinneys in 2017 for €17.4m, will concentrate on growing renewable energy crops.
The Burt, Co. Donegal-based farm will host a two-day dispersal sale on February 7th and 8th, while a follow-up sale of young stock will occur on February 21st.
More than 2,000 cattle will go under the hammer at the sale, which will take place at Stranorlar Mart and will be managed by Harrison & Hetherington; Glyn Lucas will officiate as auctioneer.
