300 pedigree registered heifers (three generations) are wanted for export to Russia.
David Clarke Livestock, Lynestown House, Loughnavalley, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath are submitting a tender for the cattle, according to Irish Holstein Friesian Association.
Criteria include heifers must be a minimum of 60 days in-calf when they leave the Irish farm and a maximum of 150 days in-calf.
The dams of the heifers in question must have a minimum 1st lactation of 6,500kg or 2nd 7,500kg or a subsequent lactation of 8,500kg of milk.
Another requirement is that the heifers must also be a minimum of 7/8th bred (87.5%) Holstein Friesian.
All heifers will be collected from the farm by David Clarke Livestock, a company sourcing and transporting dairy cattle for over thirty yers.
Herds must be clear from TB, Johnes and Brucellosis for three years.
