Livestock marts across the country are set to close from midnight tonight (Tuesday, March 24th) as part of new measures to slow the spread of Covid-19.
The announcement was made by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar in a live broadcast earlier this afternoon.
“All theatres, clubs, gyms/leisure centres, hairdressers, betting shops, marts, markets, casinos, bingo halls, libraries and other similar outlets are to close.”
“The NPHET further recommends that the existing and these additional measures are extended until Sunday, April 19th, 2020, and will be kept under continuing review, as to whether further measures may be required.”
