A couple in County Cork, have launched a challenge against planning permission for a wind farm.
The wind farm is proposed to be built beside their home in Inchigeelagh, Co. Cork, and permission has been applied for the building of 11 turbines in total.
The couple have appealed against planning permission granted to the windfarm, and brought their case to the High Court.
A Couple have brought a legal challenge to a decision to grant planning permission for a windfarm development close to their home.
They are seeking an order to stop the building of the windfarm as they say increased noise generated by the windfarm was not taken into account by An Bord Pleanala prior to providing planning permission for the development.
The couple, Klaus Balz and Hanna Heubach, also claimed that the necessary Environmental Impact Assessment was never carried out properly prior to the planning permission being granted.
The Judge granted permission to continue with the challenge, and the case will be back before the courts by October.
