Country music star dies from ‘complications of coronavirus’

A 61-year-old country music star has died from “complications of coronavirus”.

Grammy award-winning star, Joe Diffie, passed away just two days after he announced that he had tested positive for the virus.

A brief statement was posted on his Facebook page yesterday (Sunday, March 29th): “GRAMMY-winning country music legend, Joe Diffie, passed away today, Sunday, March 29, from complications of coronavirus (COVID-19). His family requests privacy at this time.”

In a post on Friday (March 27th), he said: “I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment after testing positive for Covid-19.”

“My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.” the social media post added.
