Corrie's sale of 'Leading Ladies' lived up to its name with prices hitting headlines at £3,600 and a clearance of 90 head levelling at £1,988.
The sale ring at Ballymena Mart was packed to overflowing for the recent sale of in-calve suckler heifers hosted by Will and Gareth Corrie.
Many view this annual sale as an opportunity to source heifers to increase and build on existing herds or to establish a new suckler herd.
The sale topper at this year's sale came in the form of a black Limousin heifer that was snapped up by a Newtownards farmer at £3600; she is due to calve in February.
Following hot on her heels at £3100 was a Simmental type- female purchased by Carrigeen Farms - Ballyclare.
Gareth Corrie was delighted how the sale went and commented that there was a large proportion of the cattle went to repeat buyers who had been delighted with previous purchases from them.
This was a busy week for the Corrie family who exhibited at a number of fatstock shows in addition to the sale and claimed a number of awards at these events.
The herd is one of Northern Ireland’s leading farms, with success of taking top title in the NI Limousin Club Commercial herd competition over the past number of years, gaining recognition as the best leading herd in the province.
