The results of a That’s Farming poll have shown that farmers have split between Mullinahone and Cormac Tagging as their cattle tag of choice for calving ’17.
51% of farmers opted for Cormac Tagging tags for the new season while 44% said they would opt for Mullinahone tags.
Just 5% of polled readers opted for Datamars tags the third approved supplier in the market
The cattle tag market had been a monopoly as exposed by That’s Farming last year. The inclusion of Cormac Tagging and Datamars as approved suppliers has opened the once closed field and has led to more competitive pricing for farmers.
With November being the busiest month of the year for tagging with over 30,000 tags ordered a day the news of the poll results were greeted warmly by Cormac Tagging.
Speaking to That’s Farming, Ursula Kelly of Cormac Tagging said:
‘The most positive thing we are getting is that people are ordering again from us they are repeat customers which is great.’
Its impressive news as Cormac Tagging are now only in their second year of selling cattle tags. Kelly had this advice for new customers:
‘Trying a new supplier is no risk, we do free replacement, and that’s one of the biggest advantages we have got back on the feedback,’ she added.
With tagging season well underway its time to get your orders ready.
