A well-known family in the Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association circles have exported a home-bred 14-month-old bull overseas.
Husband-and-wife duo Albert and Jennifer DeCogan, Killamuckey, Castlemartyr, Co. Cork sealed a deal with a well-known Romanian businessman, for Mogeely Memo S467. Memo will join the herd as a sire for the 30-cow pedigree herd managed under the ‘Maramures’ Angus prefix.
The Wall Royal Leo L837 son has enjoyed immense success on the show circuit and sold following his most recent win at the National Aberdeen-Angus Calf show.
The bull arrived in Romania in mid-November and the sum in question in the high profile private deal is under wraps. The Irish Aberdeen-Angus Association confirmed the news on their website last week.
The DeCogans established their pedigree herd in 1985.
