Colostroballs provide both vets and farmers with a quick and reliable way to test the quality of the colostrum before it is fed to calves.
Iomlán Animal Science – which was established in 2014 – has introduced the easy to use, durable and reusable product to the Irish marketplace.
“The 6 balls are placed into the bucket of colostrum and it gives an indication of the quality of colostrum by how many or what balls float.” the spokesperson explained.
Boost levels of antibodies
“If the quality is sub-standard, the advice would be to add a sachet of Colostrobione to boost the level of antibodies and boost the absorption of the antibodies.”
Colostrobione boosts the quality of colostrum post-calving; farmers are advised to add one sachet to the colostrum or feed with milk/warm water.
It contains vitamins, probiotics, plant extracts, energy, trace elements & clinoptilolite clay.
“Clinoptilolite clay ensures that the colostrum antibodies are absorbed better. This gives an upgrade and boosts to poorer quality colostrum.”
“The probiotics colonise the intestinal tract and the plant extracts help protect the intestinal wall.” the spokesperson concluded.
