Bostonia NiceGirl ET led the Bostonia, Roughan and Enniscrone female production sale at €7,100 on Saturday, August 25th.
The Doonally New (CF52) daughter born in October-2017 sold with a terminal index of €140 and a replacement index of €18.
The sale took place in Scurmore, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo - the home of the prestigious Bostonia Charolais herd - and was operated in conjunction with Elphin Co-operative Livestock Mart.
Some forty-five pedigree females went under the hammer ( fifteen from each herd) and an additional twenty commercial heifer calves were offered for sale from Bostonia Charolais.
Bostonia Nicola ET, a Lisnagre Elite (ET) daughter, born in August-2017 topped out at €4,500; this price tag was shared by Bostonia Nations-Favourite ET, a Doonally New daughter with a terminal index of €163 and replacement index of €51.
A Tombapik daughter, Bostonia Missteak ET, with a terminal index of €173 and a replacement index of €92 secured €4,300.
Bostonia Madee II ET commanded €3,800; this July-2018 born Liscally Eti (ET) daughter sold scanned in-calf nine weeks on the day of the sale to Roughan Nevers.
€3,500 was claimed by Bostonia N-Ingrid, a December-2017-born daughter of Tonroe Lesley; she carries a terminal index of €143 and a replacement index of €49.
Bostonia Ocean, a Whitecliffe James daughter was knocked down at €3,300; she was born in January-2018 and went under the hammer with a terminal index of €111 and a replacement index of €42.
Pedigree females sold to an average of €3,700 from the Bostonia herd, while twenty-eight weanlings averaged €1,040; a top call of €1,200 was recorded for 350kg.

Roughan Charolais
Roughan Nederland, owned by Pat McClean, Roughan, Newtowncunningham, Lifford, Co. Donegal hit €5,800 (pictured below) at the sale; the Jazzman daughter was born in February-2017. 9 females from this herd went under the hammer at an average price of €3,400.

Enniscrone Livestock
Ronan Gallagher MVB, Carrowcardin, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo took home €3,500 for Enniscrone Noreen ET, sired by Elgin Davinci, with a terminal index of €114; this February-2017-born heifer is out of an Enniscrone Ursula cow - a daughter of Doonally New.
Enniscrone Ingrid ET followed at €3,400; this February-2013-born Major daughter is served 5-months in-calf to CF52; she is a full-sister of Enniscrone Fiona, one of Bostonia Charolais' foundational females.
