Close to 35 fire-fighters attended a farm in Tassagh, in bid to rescue a number of cattle that fell into a slurry tank, Armagh i reports.
The incident is believed to have occurred in Co. Armagh yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
One eyewitness source revealed to Armagh i that at least five cows fell into the slurry pit.
A number of cattle were successfully rescued, but it is possible that some may have died.
Fire crews and animal rescue personnel worked hard to rescue the cattle in “difficult conditions”, Armagh i said.
Representatives from Keady Fire Station, one from Armagh, the Large Animal Rescue Team from Newcastle Fire Station and Specialist Team from Central Fire Station in Belfast, attended the scene.
No personnel where injured during the rescue operation.
The cause of the incident is yet to be identified.
