A 2-year-old Limousin bullock – donated by Adam Quinn - will be sold at Carnew Mart this Saturday (January 26th), with all proceeds going to impoverished families in Lesotho, Africa.
The landlocked country in Southern Africa has a population of over two million; almost 75% of the population live in rural areas and raise animals and crops, although there is very little arable land.
Some of the biggest problems facing this country include health concerns - a high HIV/AIDS adult prevalence rate; human trafficking and forced labour.
Speaking to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for Carnew Mart said: “Adam Quinn will be travelling with a group of school friends for two weeks to work directly with families in Lesotho.”
“As part of his trip, he has to fundraise for this community and he decided to donate the proceeds of the sale of this bullock to this cause.” The spokesperson concluded.
