The department will soon begin to notify any Basic Payment scheme applicants of any non-compliance in overclaims, dual claims, and overlaps found in preliminary checks.
If any non-compliance is found there will be a chance given to affected applicants to fix the issues online prior to a June 19th deadline. No reduction in payments or penalty will be applied provided all is rectified and in order prior to the deadline.
If a non-compliance is noted with your application, the affected peoples will be notified online or through their advisor. Those registered for the text message alert service will receive a text notifying them of the issue.
The affected peoples will then be given the chance to amend the applications without any penalty imposed.
The usual issues noted during these preliminary checks include overclaims, dual claims, and overlaps. Applicants do have the right to retain original application claims although it is advised to amend when needed in order to prevent a loss of payments.
If anyone would like more information on the subject they are urged to visit the departmenst website at www.agriculture.gov.ie or alternatively on www.agfood.ie.
A step by step guide is also available to help in the process of amending applications. Furthermore If any farmer or advisor receives a notification of a preliminary check they can contact the Direct Payments Helpdesk at 0761 064420 where a member of staff will be available to talk them through the process of responding.
