There was plenty of action and activities on offer in Bonniconlon today, and the wet weather didn't stop people from coming in their throves. Many thought that because of the Quarter Final between Mayo and Roscommon that numbers may be thin, but that wasn't the case as people showed up in their thousands.Â
There was plenty on offer today, with many prizes on offer for all competitors on the day.
Competitions included: The All Ireland U21 Championship, The All Ireland Novice Championship, Masters Championship, Senior Irish Championship, Senior European Championship and much more. There was also a sheaf tossing competition on the day for ladies, with â¬1,200 up for grabs. Whilst there was also a juvenile section for sheaf tossing also.Â
There were dog shows on the day, as well as sheep dog trials, horse show jumping, horse shows, sheep showing, flower shows and there was even craft tents and cookery demonstrations on the day. The fields were littered with numerous trade, food and confectionary stands.
A fun packed day, with numerous games, bouncy castles and activities available for the younger people. Other activities included a rock climbing wall and many carnival style games which were scattered across the grounds. Meanwhile the adults could enjoy the musical stylings of Michael English, while Jimmy Buckley takes over in the evening.
For those worried about missing the match they needn't have, as there was two large flat screens on site on the day, broadcasting the football match live. The show also had many different types of machines, old and new, on show today, with a few vintage cars in attendance also.
Overall it was a great, action packed day with plenty of fun and an enjoyable day for all.
