Big Week on the Farm will continue this evening, following yesterday’s successful opening episode of the third season.
Tonight, guest presenter Marty Whelan joins hosts Ella McSweeney and Áine Lawlor for day two of Big Week on the Farm, live from Gillian O’Sullivan’s farm in Waterford, where they will see if it is possible to create artificial beef and ask the question would you eat it? With calving is in full swing on the Waterford farm, there may even be the possibility of a live calving.
Plus, RTÉ will follow a vet who in the course of performing a routine op on a cow finds something very sinister. As part of tonight’s episode, the crew will also visit Roscommon Mart for a weekly weanling sale.
Speaking to That’s Farming, Maura Quigley, Manager of Roscommon Mart said:
“Big Week on the Farm will show a Bull calf being sold live at our evening sale tomorrow along with a farmer getting an animal ready for sale. We are being involved in this fantastic production.”
Each night, on Big Week on the Farm, Ella, Áine and celebrity guests will present live studio demos, discussions, dissections, hatchings and births. Join in as the drama unfolds every night, April 9th-13th, from 7 pm on RTÉ One. Tune in tonight for Episode 1, RTÉ One, April 9th at 7 pm.
