The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed T.D. noted the “progress” made on talks on the beef sector which concluded in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
He thanked participants, and Michael Dowling for chairing the discussions in Backweston, and urged continued constructive dialogue in the coming days.
Dowling will now circulate a document based on the proposals that were put forward.
Market transparency
IFA President Joe Healy said some progress had been made on market transparency and the introduction of a price index.
There is also a commitment to look at the market specifications that impact on price that exist in the grid.
It is expected that the talks will reconvene on Thursday or Monday next.
