Data from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine indicates that 38,150 cattle were slaughtered during the week commencing October 14th.

- Bulls: 529;
- Steers: 17,219;
- Heifers: 10,486.
37,689 cattle were presented for slaughter during the week ending October 13th. 1,384,664 cattle have been slaughtered in Department of Agriculture-approved slaughtering plants, this year, as of the end of last week.
Factories are quoting a base price of €3.45/kg-€3.50/kg for steers, with €3.50/kg-€3.55/kg being forked out for heifers, although one processing plant is paying up to €3.60/kg.
Between €3.10-€3.50/kg is available for young bulls while cull cows are ranging from €2.60-€3.00/kg.
