Minister Creed announced today, via his Twitter account, that the Department of Agriculture have introduced new animal welfare regulations.
The Minister posted a picture of himself signing the legislation, which will ban the use of wild animals in circuses around the country. This is the first step by the Department to try and improve animal welfare conditions in the country.
Minister Creed posted “Signing regulations banning the use of wild animals in Circuses. This is a progressive move reflective of our commitment to animal welfare” underneath the picture.
He called the move progressive and says it shows the commitment of his department to improving animal welfare.
