Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange - Rainfall warning for two counties - Cork and Waterford.
Mayo, Galway, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Kilkenny, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary are under a Status Yellow - Rainfall warning.
Large rainfall amounts are expected in these areas over the next 48-hours.
Two spells of heavy rain will descend upon these counties - the first of which is expected later this evening; this will be followed by a second spell of heavy rain on Sunday night and Monday.

These alerts are valid from 6pm this evening until 6pm on Monday.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow - Wind warning is in place in Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry.
Southeast winds will occasionally reach mean speeds between 50 and 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h, forecasters have warned.
Winds will be strongest in coastal areas; this alert is valid until 3am.
