The Annual AIB/Macra run seminar is set to take place this coming February 6th, focusing on topics such as Brexit, Climate Change, Carbon Credits, Nitrates and overall performance, in what promises to be a night not to be missed! Read more below.

Wednesday February 6th sees the annual AIB/Macra Agri Seminar taking place at the Tullamore Court Hotel in Co. Offaly.

The event is titled “Farming – A Changing Landscape”, Are You Ready?” and features a host of different speakers from all corners of the industry. The event will be chaired on the night by Dr Carina Pierce, A Teagasc Board member and Associate Professor in UCD, with proceedings kicking off on the night at 7:15pm sharp.

Featured speakers on the night include the AIB Head of Agriculture, Tadhg Buckley, former Nuffield Scholar and dairy farmer, Brian Rushe, Green Party spokesperson for Agriculture and Organic Farmer, Pippa Hackett, and a young farmer from the Offaly region.

Topics to be discussed -
AIB’s Tadhg Buckley will commence the discussion, focusing his efforts on Brexit, Sector Overview and Performance.

Next, the floor will be shared by Organic farmer Pippa Hackett and former Nuffield Scholar, Brian Rushe. Together the pair will focus their discussions on Climate Change, Carbon Credits and Social Licence. They will also discuss whether nitrates will be our new quota, whilst also touching on many other topics.

The Young farmer who will be speaking on the night (who is yet to be name) will provide attendees with information on their farm and the personal developments made in recent times.

Overall it promises to be a seminar crammed packed full of information, covering every aspect of the ever-changing landscape that is agriculture. Will you be there? Don’t forget to tune into our coverage on the night (Via Snapchat and Facebook) as we will be bringing all of the action from 7pm!
