About Carberry Food Ingredients:
Carbery Food Ingredients is recognised as a leading international manufacturer of speciality food ingredients, flavouring systems and as an award-winning cheese producer. Carbery is located in Ballineen, West Cork and is owned by four West Cork dairy co-operatives throughout the area. They use milk produced from pasture-fed cows, providing customers with a natural source of dairy products. Carbery employs an average of 200 people in its Ballineen facility.
CGDF Carbery Greener Dairy Farmers program:
In 2012, Carbery initiated an innovative, dairy efficiency programme designed in collaboration with Teagasc to measure, monitor and optimise resource allocation and best sustainable practice on farm. The programme was launched as the Carbery Greener Dairy Farms (CGDF) and is Ireland’s first model for best practice in sustainable dairy farming. The primary objective of the project was to introduce efficiencies and improve environmental sustainability on all Carbery milk supplier farms.
