ABP Food Group has made history this week, receiving triple certification.

History has been made by ABP Food Group as they became the first food processor in the world to achieve triple certification to the Carbon Trust Standard. This was the third consecutive time the honour was received by the business.

The Carbon Trust Standard certification is an award given to organisations that tackle their environmental impact, reduce carbon emissions, lower water use and waste outputs.
Â
Group Technical and Sustainability Director at ABP Food Group, Dean Holroyd, speaking after the awards said “In 2014, ABP Food Group was the first food processor globally to achieve this prestigious recognition for the progress made on sustainability across our business."
Â
He added that this shows how much work they ahve done with regards their environmental footprint. He said, "To now achieve it three times in a row is tangible proof of our industry leading standards and the real progress we have made in reducing our environmental footprint.”
Â
In 2016 the company also received recognition of their work, with all their Irish sites receiving the international energy management standard ISO 50001.

Not the only Irish company to be awarded today, Carbery Group also received recognition for it long standing international certification.
Â
The group received the NSAI Award of Distinction from the National Standards Authority of Ireland.
Â
Company Quality Manager, Paddy Barrett, spoke of the company's delight at this recognition and said they focus on maintaining high quality standards and hope to continue to provide sustainably produced food and dairy products.
