830-kilometre tractor run postponed

The Extreme Charity Tractor Runs have announced the postponement of their London2Mayo charity tractor run, which was due to take place in April 2020.

The tractor run was organized to raise funds for the construction of the new Daisy Lodge, a short break centre for children with cancer, in Cong, Co. Mayo.

Postponing the event

The committee made a statement on social media following the decision to cancel the charity event. They said: “We as a committee have made the very difficult decision to postpone our London2Mayo charity tractor run scheduled for April 2020. We have made this decision as a precaution and in line with the global and national Government and HSE guidelines.”

“The health and wellbeing of our committee members, drivers, volunteers and of course the general public are of the utmost importance. We are currently working behind the scenes to reschedule the event and will have updates as soon as possible and will continue to follow the advice globally and nationally.”

“We thank you for your continued support and we encourage you to stay safe and look out for each other at this vulnerable time,” the statement concluded.

The event was organised to raise money for Daisy Lodge, a short break centre for children with cancer. They need to raise 14.5 million to build a new centre in Cong, Co. Mayo, to provide more families with an opportunity to avail of this service. Currently, for every 1 family the lodge supports, there are 7 that they can’t.
