The hammer fell at €175,000 for a “valuable” c.14-acre roadside holding at Ballyvaloo, Blackwater, Co. Wexford at a public auction on Friday, November 15th.
This property was guided between €130,000 and €140,000 prior to the auction.
The lands are located along the Blackwater to Curracloe coast road (R742), 4km from Blackwater, 3.5km from Curracloe, 500m from the coast and 12km from Wexford town.
Ahead of the auction, David Quinn of Quinn Property, outlined that the lands in question have “good frontage” onto the public road and are laid out in four divisions.
Currently, c.10-acres are in stubble after tillage, with the remaining c. 4-acres in grazing.
“The lands are generally of good quality and enjoy stunning views of the coastline.” the selling agent added.
Bidding opened at €100,000 and “moved briskly” with three bidders to €175,000, at which point, the property was declared on the market.
There was no further bidding following this, and the hammer fell at €175,000 to a local buyer; the total price equated to €12,500/acre.
