150 cattle went under the hammer at the recent cattle sale at Tuam Mart. Heifers were, particularly in hot demand. Cull cows met with a lively trade and hit €1,670.
Speaking to That’s Farming, Marion Devane, Manager of Tuam Co-operative Livestock Mart said:
“We had a very good sale, with a full clearance. Feedlot buyers, farmers and butchers were anxious for stock. Cattle 400-600kg were in demand. One particular prominent feedlot buyer purchased up to forty of those 400-600kg types.” Marion told Catherina of That’s Farming
