Smaller entry but strong demand at Ballinasloe

Bullocks ranged from €2.14-€2.50/kg, while heifers sold from €2.19-€2.49/kg and cull cows went under the hammer from €440-€1,300 at Ballinasloe Mart on Wednesday, July 1st.

Speaking following the general cattle sale, a mart spokesperson said: “Smaller numbers but strong demand at our cattle sale.”

Bullocks:

  • 1 LM – 650kg- €1,420;
  • 1 CH – 610kg – €1,360;
  • 1 LM – 625kg – €1,360;
  • 1 LM – 360kg – €900;
  • 1 LM – 390kg – €950;
  • 1 SI – 375kg – €910.

Heifers:

  • 1 CH – 690kg – €1,390;
  • 1 LM – 580kg – €1,370;
  • 1 LM – 585kg – €1,320;
  • 1 SI – 425kg – €1,060;
  • 1 CH – 475kg – €1,180;
  • 1 CH – 393kg – €960.

Averages:

  • Cows – €1,015;
  • Heifers: €1,060 or €2.19/kg;
  • Bullocks: €1,095 or €2.14/kg.
