The online sale at Kilmallock Mart is proving to be a huge success, according to a mart spokesperson. 300 calves were on offer in their sale on Friday (May 1st), which attracted 41 buyers that paid up to €375.
The spokesperson reported that the majority of buyers were not present at the mart, as they chose to do their business via smartphones and other devices instead.
They reported that 150 bullocks were sold to 30 buyers last Monday (April 27th), as prices were “on fire” with up to €1330 per head or €2.78 per kg paid for bullocks, while a small number of weanling bull’s sold for up to €850 each or €2.85 per kg.
