Farmers and exporters made their presence felt at the ringside at Balla Mart on Tuesday (November, 12th), according to a spokesperson.
"In general, prices were up as farmers/exporters were active; as for the light, good-quality entries, trade was a good in comparison to stronger cattle." the spokesperson outlined.
The spokesperson said that bull weanlings in the 200kg-350kg bracket were in demand and averaged €2.36/kg.
Bulls 350kg-450kg met with improved demand, due to export activity for the Italian market; they averaged €2.16/kg - a BBX - 430kg - €1,155 or €2.69/kg.
The spokesperson noted that heavier bulls, weighing 450kg plus, averaged €1.89/kg - with quality lots secured by feedlot buyers.
Heifers up to 350 kgs averaged €2.40/kg - a May-2019-born LMX - 265kg - €805 or €3.03/kg. Entries weighing between 350kg to 450kg averaged €2.20/kg - a 380kg - CHX - €990 or €2.60/kg.
