A mart spokesperson reported that over 700 entries were presented for sale at Ennis on Tuesday, February 4th.
They noted that heifers improved by €20-€30/head on the previous week, while bulls were similar to the previous week. Continental calves topped out at €580, while Friesian calves went under the hammer from €40 to €115 and Hereford calves peaked at €325.
“A number of in-calf dairy stock made to €1,680. An absolute cracking trade for suckler stock and in-calf lots of these reached €2,000 with a clearance of AA in-calf cows making from €1,230 to €1,830, while pairs reached €2,030.”
