85% of entries offered for sale at Elphin Mart's Annual Show and Sale of Male Weanlings changed hands.
The manager of the mart - Gerry Connellan - reported that quality lots commanded the best prices recorded on the day.
Weanlings under 300kgs sold to an average price of €798 with a maximum price of €1,240 for a 300kg - CH.
Weanlings 300-400 kg sold to an average of €932 with a maximum price of €1,390 for a 400 kg Charolais.
An average of €1,145 was forked out for bull weanlings in the 400-500 kg weight bracket; these peaked at €1,380 for a 425kg Charolais.
Those in the 500 kg achieved an average price of €1,255 with a maximum price of €1,350 recorded for a Charolais - 610 kg.

The manager reported a 96% clearance of dry cows, with an average of €1,039 and price range of €355 to €1,790 for a 1,065 kg CH cow.
56% of in-calf heifers parted ways, with an average price of €1,076; the sale topper came in the form of a Limousin in-calf heifer at €1,300.
SheepMr.Connellan said there was a larger entry of sheep; however, trade improved, giving rise to a good clearance.
91% of cull ewes were sold; these ranged from €25-€120.
