There was a 95% clearance recorded in the cull cow ring at Elphin Mart’s opening sale of 2020 on Monday, January 6th, according to Gerry Connellan.
Entries sold to an average price of €1,088; these ranged from €615 to €1,415 – which was paid for an 815 kg Charolais.
The manager said that 94% of in-calf entries found new homes with an average price of €1,562 recorded; prices ranged from €1,240 to €2,200 for Limousin heifer, 8-months in-calf.
Bull weanlings
