There were 241 cattle in Blessington this week, while there were approx. 60 calves on offer.
A very lively trade was seen on all types of cattle.
Bullock process ranged from anywhere between €470 and €960 and over. Beef and forward types came in between €610 and €960, while store bullocks over 500kgs made between €620 and €870 over the kilo.
Lighter store bullocks(400kgs) made between €530 and €735 over the kg, while bullocks between 300-400kgs came in for between €470 and €670 over €/kg.
Heifers meanwhile came in for prices varying from lows of €410 to highs of €865 over €/kg.
Beef and butcher heifers came in for between €510 and €865 over the kg, while store heifers of 400kgs and over made from €470 up to €650 over €/kg.
Lighter store heifers (300-400kgs) made anything from €410 over the kg and up to €650.
Beef cows made prices of between €400 and €740 over the kg. While feeding cows made from €160 and up to €400 over €/kg.
Calf prices ranged from a low €90 and up to €400 per head. Continental bull calves fared best with prices of between €160 and €400, while Continental heifers made between €160 and €335 per head.
HE/AA bulls made from €140 up to €350 per head, while heifer calves of the same types came in for between €130 and €300.
Friesian bull claves meanwhile made between lows of €90 and tops of €180 per head.
