A large entry turned out for Castlerea Mart’s annual show and sale of Aberdeen Angus heifers which was held on Thursday (October 3rd) in conjunction with its usual sale day.

“Adverse weather conditions are starting to take effect on stock.” Egan said following the general cattle sale.

Breeding stock and runners were in “good demand”, with Egan reporting a stronger trade for weanling heifers this week.

“The weanling bull trade is dominated by export trade at the moment with farmers competing at the ringside.” he added.
