Some 750 entries including 150 dry cows and 100 calves went under the hammer at Carnew Mart on Saturday (December 1st).
The mart’s manager - David Quinn said there was good demand for quality lots and beef cattle while light cattle and plain cattle continued to be a slow trade.

Weanling Sale
Some 250 weanlings were offered for sale on Wednesday (November 28th) with strong demand for quality bulls and heifers– good export demand for Aberdeen-Angus and Hereford bulls, according to David Quinn.
Bulls over 400kg ranged from €820 - €1320, while bulls under 400kg made €560 - €1080 and heifers over 400kg sold from €740 - €1180 and heifers under 400kg fetched from €470 - €880.
The mart held a dairy sale on Wednesday, with 80 lots passing through the ring and a full clearance.

Sheep Sale
