There was a big sale in Ennis Mart on Tuesday (June 9th), according to a mart spokesperson, with it being the first sale in almost 3 months with buyers back around the ring.
The ringside interest was complemented by a number of online bidders, creating a very strong trade. Trade was strong for quality bull weanlings in particular, but the mart spokesperson said the quality in the ring was very good.
“Slightly tougher” were the words used to describe the heifer trade, while calves met a very good trade. A 2-month-old Limousin bull calf made €540 in a sale that resulted in a 100% clearance.
Suckler cows with calves at foot made up to €1770 with a strong demand reported for these lots.
