Bullocks 300kg to 400kg averaged €2.11/kg, while stores in the 400kg-500kg bracket averaged €2.16/kg.
Heavier bullocks, weighing in excess of 500kg averaged €1.96/kg – a CHX - 650kg - €1,510 or €2.32/kg or €860 over.
Heifers up to 400 kg averaged €2.17/kg, while 400kg-500kg entries averaged €2.18/kg – a LMX - 415kg - €1,435 or €3.46/kg.
500kg entries averaged €2.09/kg – a LM - 650kg - €1,710 or 2.63/kg or €1,060 over the weight.
Dry cows and sucklers
The sale-topping dry cow came in the form of a January-2015-born SIX, weighing 905kg; she made €1,710.
The sale also included a special entry of 35 in-calf; a top call of €1,820 was forked out for a two-star March-2017-born CHX, due in three weeks to a pedigree Limousin bull.
“In the weanling ring, in general prices were up as farmers/exporters were active around the ring.”
Weanling bulls 200kg averaged €2.26/kg, while bulls 350kg-450kg averaged €1.88/kg and entries 450kg plus averaged €2.00/kg.
Heifers up to 350 kg averaged €2.17/kg, while those 350kg-450kg averaged €1.97/kg.
