Anne Dargan, a suckler farmer and vet assistant, married her sweetheart Alan Smyth, a beef farmer, recently on July 21st in Ratharney Co. Westmeath. This wedding though was not your conventional wedding day, with the theme of the day All things farming!
The couple came up with the idea together, with Anne deciding to go for the Mr and Mrs Bales, pictured above. The task for this was given to her brother Willie, who set them up at the bottom of the road with minimum fuss.
That wasn't all in store from the farming loving couple, as they also had at their wedding a cattle stick guard of honour. There was more to come for the surprised guest as wellies were lined up outside the church filled with flowers, as well as milk churns too! Also on site was a small childrens tractor and numerous bales of hay.
The couple really stuck to their guns, and showed that farming really is the bee's knees, by adding yet another surprise for guests. At the reception there was a free cart of, wait for it, Chocolate cows! Yum!!!
A great idea from the farming couple, Congrat-moo-lations on the big day from us here at ThatsFarming!!
