Murt Toohey and his brother have gone all out this Christmas, with a tractor themed Christmas light bonanza.
The brothers, from Borrisokane in Co. Tipperary, have continued their new tradition, of decorating their garden with Christmas lights. That’s not all though, as they have chosen the theme we all know and love, Tractors!
The brothers haven’t done this noble deed for no good reason, with the decorations in honour of a local, sick young boy, who is tractor-mad. Billy Goulding, is a two year old boy who was recently the subject of a naked tractor campaign to raise funds.
Tractor Fanatic Billy Goulding is in need of constant supervision, amid fears his breathing tube may block. Recently Billy has seen improvements in his condition, and is now able to move his arm and breath for a time without help.
As part of his treatment, Billy must travel to England twice a year, for rehabilitation. This is carried out in Stoke Mandeville hospital, but his care is costly for the family.
"Billy is tractor mad. He gets so excited when he sees a tractor.” said his mum Eileen recently.
"His favourite is blue - New Holland. His dad Victor has a blue tractor.” she added.
The brothers have put up the decorations for all to enjoy, their only ask is that “ if you have a few euro to spare we’ll have a donation box on the wall”. People can also donate, via the gofundme page in Billy’s honour. To donate see www.gofundme.com/2hpbsdw.
All are welcome to attend or as Mut Toohey said on his Facebook “Feel free if ye come to see the display to stop call in and take photos with it.”.
